Men's Stretch Jeans

For the average gent on a mall shopping trip, it may be getting harder and harder to overlook the latest in denim trends taking up space in their favorite shopping spot: men's stretch jeans. Stretch denim for women has been around since, well, forever. But recently, the men's stretch jeans fad has been gaining some serious popularity, with everyone from skater boys to rap stars and even corporate types trying to get in on the look. But, one man's fashion savvy is another man's ridiculous; and it's important to keep a few key things in mind before deciding if you're ready (and willing) to try the stretch denim thing for yourself.

For starters, keep in mind that men's stretch jeans are meant to be worn tight. For fellows accustomed to sporting looser pants, this kind of snug fit can take some serious getting used to. Stretch denim is much less forgiving than regular cuts, so if you're sporting a little extra tummy, you'll probably want to skip the fad altogether. (The same goes for gentlemen with lots of body hair - the super tight fit can make stretch denim downright painful!)

Stretching the Limits of Fashion

Of course, even if you're a specimen of physical perfection, men's stretch jeans may not be the best choice for you. Men over 30, who would rather wear boxers than briefs or boxer-briefs, or who are the least bit self conscious would all be better served by another style of pants altogether. However, if you are a confident guy willing to try a fun new look, and are proud of your body, then go ahead and try out a pair of men's stretch jeans for yourself. It may just end up being your signature new look!
